This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their Personally Identifiable Information (PII) will be & is being used online. PII is described in US privacy Law & information security as any information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, locate a single person or to identify an individual in context. 

 

Please read the following carefully to ensure that you fully understand how we collect your data, use your data, protect or otherwise handle your personal data via the Unity Fitness Website.

 

1) What data do we collect via our website / app?
When registering for information about Unity, registering for a membership or a service we offer etc you may be asked to provide the following:

  • -  Full Name

  • -  Email Address

  • -  Phone Number

  • -  Address

  • -  Credit Card Information

  • -  Other personal details like your date of birth, all of which will enhance your

    experience with us.

We will collect data from you when you do the following:

  • -  Respond to Surveys.

  • -  Fill out Forms.

  • -  Enter information on site.

  • -  Book Inbody Sessions.

  • -  Book a No Sweat Intro.

  • -  Book a place on a social.

  • -  Purchase from our shop.

 

3) How do we use your information?

 

We may use your information you submit upon registration to purchase, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or for marketing purposes. We may also use your information to better/ enhance the service we provide. As well as:

  • -  To allow us to improve our Customer Service / communications.

  • -  To process transactions.

  • -  To enable us to follow up with our clients via email, live chat or via the phone.

     

4) How do we protect your information?

 

Our website will have regular scans with anti-virus software to ensure that it has no viruses. Anti-Virus & Malware Software will be installed. Your personal information will be contained behind secured networks & is only accessible to limited persons who have the right to use them, use the systems in place & have signed a confidentiality policy.

In addition your sensitive information /credit information you have supplied will be encrypted via Secure Socket Layer Technology.

We will implement a variety of security measures when a client places an order, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

All Transactions are processed through a gateway provider & are not stored or processed on our servers. Unity Fitness participates in a yearly screening to ensure that the merchant / gateway providers are happy that we are adhering to all privacy laws & regulations.

 

5) Do we use cookies? Yes 
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent or you can choose to turn this option off via your browser settings.

 

6) Third Party Disclosure

  • -  We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer to outside parties any of your (PII)

    Personal Identifiable Information.

  • -  We do not offer third-party products or services on our website.

  • -  We currently haven’t enabled google adsense on our website.

 

7) California Online Privacy Protection Act
- CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require a commercial website & online

service to post a privacy policy. It states that on any website the information being collected & those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared is clearly stated

8) We adhere to the following:

  • -  Users can visit our site anonymously.

  • -  The link to this policy will be clearly displayed at the bottom of each page.

  • -  We will notify users of any changes to the policy.

9) We honor DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS & will not track or plant cookies or use advertising when DO NOT TRACK is in place. We do not allow third party behavioural tracking.

 

10) Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • -  Any Adolescent under the age of 13 will put the parent’s in control of their

    internet use.

  • -  The Federal Trade Commission, United States consumer protection agency,

    enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators on websites &

    online services must do to protect children's privacy & safety online.

  • -  We do not specifically target children under 13 years of age.

  • -  We will however allow third parties, including ad networks or plug-ins to

    collect PII from children under 13.

 

11) The Fair Information Practices Principles form the privacy law in the United States, which have played a significant role in the development of data protection. Understanding the Fair Principle Practices & how they should be implemented is crucial to complying with privacy laws to protect personal information.

Should a data breach occur we will take the following action:

  • -  Notify you via email within 7 days.

  • -  We agree to the Redress principle, which requires that individuals have the right to

    legally pursue enforceable rights against data collectors & processors, who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users but that individuals have recourse to courts or government agencies to investigate and or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

 

12) The CAN SPAM ACT is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, est requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them & spells out tough penalties for violations. We collect your email address for the following: 

Send information, respond to emails (enquires), requests or questions.

To be in accordance with CAN SPAM we adhere to the following: - Not use false or mis-leading subjects on our emails.

  • -  Identify the email as an advertisement.

  • -  Include the physical address of our business.

  • -  Monitor third party email marketing.

  • -  Honour Opt out / unsubscribe out of receiving our emails, by using the link at the

    bottom of each email.
